Grand Egyptian Museum opening to be as impressive as Royal Mummies Parade: El-Anani

El-Anani stated that rather than focusing solely on Egypt, the date of the inauguration ceremony would be determined in accordance with the global health situation and the best time for everyone.



The GEM, the largest museum in the world devoted to one civilization, has been constructed in Giza on a total area of 117 feddan, and its opening is highly anticipated. The museum also houses the first hanging obelisk in history and a grand staircase lined with enormous ancient Egyptian treasures.


According to El-Anani, Egypt will also showcase other significant events over the following months, such as the celebration to inaugurate the New Administrative Capital (NAC), Galala, and the opening of the Rams Road in Luxor.

The minister said that the Pharaoh's Golden Parade's success was a testament to Egypt's rich history and legendary forebears. Many were inspired to travel to Egypt as well as the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) in Fustat after seeing the royal mummies there with our Egypt trips.

Due to the city's ongoing growth, Cairo in particular is predicted to have a corresponding rise in cultural tourism with the anticipated increase in visitor visits.


El-Anani made his comments during interviews he gave to reporters in the UAE before Egypt's participation in ATM 2021. The celebration began on Sunday and runs until May 19.

The Minister emphasized the need of publicizing these fresh archaeological finds since they will help promote Egyptian tourism and provide an interesting factor.
